University of Wisconsin English Language Academy

Program Description

The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire welcomes a variety of learners to the English Language Academy (ELA), which provides dynamic English as a Second Language (ESL) instruction to individuals whose first language is not English. Upon completion of the ELA program, learners should be ready to pursue academic study at a university or college or begin professional work in the United States. ELA faculty members are qualified and experienced ESL instructors who take a personal interest in their students’ in- and out-of-the-classroom language and cultural activities. They spend more than 20 hours each week with the program participants.
