EAC Edinburgh's language school in central Edinburgh occupies a fine Georgian terrace building in one of Edinburgh's principal streets, Queen Street. The school extends over five floors and this impressive property comprises twelve classrooms, a large students room where students can relax, socialise, watch a large-screen television, read magazines or books from the library and purchase hot and cold drinks from the vending machine. There is also a computer suite where students will have unlimited Internet access looking out onto a pleasant private garden. All the main shops of George Street and Princes Street are within two minutes walk and this lovely area of Edinburgh is also home to an extensive range of bars, cafes, restaurants and nightclubs.
EAC Edinburgh operates an extensive range of language courses for differing needs. These include:
General and Intensive English courses - both standard and intensive and suitable for most study requirements. Examination Preparation - specialised preparation for Cambridge University First Certificate in English and IELTS Executive Courses - a range of intensive and personalised small group or one-to-one language courses for business and professional, people, whose needs are often very specific and whose time available for study is often limited. Work Experience / Placement Programme - these courses offer our students a dual opportunity both to develop their English skills at EAC Edinburgh as well as to gain valuable experience working in an Edinburgh organisation. When deciding to study with EAC Edinburgh, our students can be assured they are choosing an organisation that values the highest standards in English language education. Our teachers are all native speakers with a university degree or similar and appropriate professional teaching qualifications. We focus on all our students as individuals and our teaching is tailored as much as possible to the individual needs of our individual students.
All classes are graded according to level. Each student's level will be determined by a test and interview conducted on the first morning at EAC Edinburgh. Progress reports will follow every four weeks and there is ample opportunity to discuss each student's progress with teachers and EAC Edinburgh's Director of Studies.
Most courses will be given by one or more teachers to provide a change of focus and variety. Homework will be set on a regular basis to consolidate and build on what is studied in class.
