Banff Education Centre is located in Canmore, Alberta. Next to Banff National Park, a World Heritage site and Canada's first National Park. 15 min from Banff and 1.5 hrs from Calgary.
the half time and full time programmes are divided into both Academic English and Active English. During Academic English, students learn grammer, pronunciation, reading, and writing skills to communicate in various situations in the class and community. Cross cultural understanding and Banff National Park education is also studied on a continuing basis during the course. Teachers incorporate weekly field trips to immerse students in the Banff community and use there English in practical situations. Each student is tested every four weeks and assessed on both their academic and active English skills. The teacher's goal is to have students learn specific objects within the academic and active English skills. All classroom methodologies vary depending on the level of students. Students are given an interview and placement exam prior to entering the class. Students recieve a certificate of completion depending on there preformance and attendance in the class.
