Summer Language Immersion Programs

Montreal is the bilingual city par excellence in the Americas: 50% of the population speaks both English and French. A cosmopolitan city of 3 million people and located on the St. Lawrence River, Montreal has more than 4,000 restaurants and plays host to around 30 festivals, notably the Montreal International Jazz Festival. Montreal is one of the safest cities in the world and it boasts one of the lowest costs of living. The city has numerous green spaces along with a 750-km network of bicycle paths. Montreal is touch of Europe within North America and is just two hours by car from Quebec City or Ottawa, 5 hours from Toronto or Boston, and 7 hours from New York City.

Situated at the heart of the Latin Quarter in downtown Montreal, UQAM is a French-language university with 40,000 students. The newest of all the Montreal universities, UQAM nonetheless offers 200 programs at the bachelor's, master's, and doctorate levels in fields such as management, environmental studies, computer science, communications, fine arts, music, etc.

The Language School of the University of Quebec in Montreal (UQAM) offers 4 week intensive immersion programs in English or French during the summer (for a total of 118 hours). These dynamic programs feature the essential combination of quality small-group instruction in the morning along with afternoon field trips (hands-on language workshops, cultural and touring activities) that reinforce classroom learning. The course accents on grammar and oral communication whatever the level of knowledge of the student. Our sessions:

• June 2nd to 27th (possibility of an extra week for a supplement)
• July 7th to August 1st Schedule Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Friday afternoons are free)
