Description

English for academic purposes, content-based curriculum, TOEFL workshops, orientation to the American university, 20 contact hours per week, language laboratory available, four levels of instruction.

Student Services

There is a comprehensive new student orientation. The activities program includes trips to local sites (Nevada ghost towns, Reno Rodeo, Indian reservation), student receptions, parties, dances, banquets, volleyball, shopping and soccer clubs. In the winter there are ski trips and in the summer a trip to Lake Tahoe. A conversation partner program, matching ESL students with American student, is also in place.

Additional Services

Academic advising, writing and computer center, multimedia language laboratory, recreation center with Olympic size pool, fully staffed international student office, health center, international club; student at an advanced level may concurrently register for academic classes; conditional admission available, university admission without TOEFL.
