The ELI is located on the North Campus of the University at Buffalo in Amherst, a suburb of Buffalo which is rated one of the safest and best communities to live in the U.S. The university is only 30 minutes by car from Niagara Falls and a 90-minute drive from Toronto. Buffalo is an hour's flight from New York City, Washington, Boston, Philadelphia and Chicago.
The ELI Intensive English Program conducts four programs per year: a fall semester program (15 weeks), a spring semester program (15 weeks) and two summer programs, one 12 weeks and the other 6 weeks. Each program includes 25 hours of classroom and laboratory instruction per week. The ELI Intensive Program typically has at least eight levels of instruction, from low intermediate to advanced.
