Our Campus is located in New Paltz, NY, a peaceful town with a population of about 6,000. It is less than two hours from the excitement of New York City. New Paltz is known for its natural beauty. It is surrounded by the Shawangunk and Catskill Mountains, with apple orchards and farms within walking distance of campus. The town has an active social life. There are many restaurants, cafes and pubs popular with students.
The HELP offers three semesters of instruction per year with spring and fall terms of 15 weeks and a summer term of 5 weeks. Students are enrolled in 18 to 24 hours of class per week. Haggerty English Language Program has four levels of study: I (elementary), II (intermediate), III (advanced), and IV (academic purposes).
There are thirteen residence halls that provide campus housing. Generally, two students share a room. It is important to make an early reservation for campus housing. All halls administered by a full-time professional resident director and a staff of undergraduate Resident Associates.
