The mission of the ESL Program is to provide intensive English language instruction and academic training for international students who intend to enter American universities or improve their ability to use English for professional purposes. Student Services Students in the ESL program have full access to Xavier University facilities, including computer labs, dining facilities, the Sports Center, and University libraries. The Center for International Education (CIE) provides support to all international students in many ways. The CIE conducts an excellent orientation to the campus and to living in the US, and gives assistance in the areas of cultural adjustment, housing and immigration matters. Special programs and activities are sponsored by the CIE throughout the academic year. Housing note: Housing on campus in University residence halls is limited, and requires early application. Other housing is available nearby, in apartments and rental homes.
Students who successfully complete the advanced level of the Intensive English Program, with grades of 'B' or better, are not required to submit standardized tests scores (TOEFL, IELTS) for admission to an undergraduate degree program at Xavier University.
Housing on campus is limited and requires early application. Housing is readily available in the summer term. Off-campus housing in nearby apartments is available.
