Glenside, PA is a safe tree-lined suburb just 20 minutes by train from Philadelphia, a large and culturally diverse city with a vibrant social scene, including a variety of restaurants, music clubs, major sports, museums, theater companies, and the internationally acclaimed Philadelphia Orchestra. Philadelphia and its suburbs feature many historic sites related to the founding of the United States. NYC and Washington,D.C. are easy day trips from Arcadia University.

The ELI offers full-time intensive ESL instruction in speaking, listening, writing, grammar, and reading. Advanced level courses receive university credit. Advanced students can take a university course with tutorial assistance. Bridge level and on-going support are available to students continuing their studies as Arcadia undergraduate or graduate students.

Class size is small in order to provide personal attention. Elective sessions are available in special subjects such as accent reduction, TOEFL prep, history and culture. There are also many opportunities for book clubs, conversation partners,International Students' Club events and field trips.
