The Intensive English Language Institute (IELI) is on the campus of Utah State University (USU) in Logan, Utah. Logan is located in a scenic mountain valley 90 miles north of Salt Lake City, the state capital. With a low crime rate, Logan is a safe and peaceful place to study. The university has approximately 17,000 students about 5% are international.
IELI is a comprehensive, 4-level (elementary through advanced) program which offers academic credit (undergraduate) for language study. It is housed in the College of Humanities at USU. Students who successfully complete the program meet the English prerequisite for admission to both graduate and undergraduate study at Utah State University without the TOEFL.

The Intensive English Language Institute (IELI) provides students with the language proficiency and cultural orientation necessary to make them successful students in the Utah State University (USU) classroom and willing participants in the university experience.
Academically qualified students need not submit TOEFL scores. Once they are accepted for graduate or undergraduate study, they may take university classes after they successfully complete the intensive English program.
