English as a Second Language Intensive English Program- the Alabama Language Institute (ALI) is found on Gadsden State Community College’s campus and has been providing high quality English language training to students from around the world since 1973. It is a multi-level curriculum offering intensive English language instruction to students seeking- • to gain a functional command of English in order to prepare for a successful academic experience in a U.S. college or university, • to obtain an adequate score on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), and • to improve English language skills for professionals in the workplace. Using modern technology and a variety of classroom teaching methods, ALI aims to provide a nurturing environment conducive to learning, where students can reach their full potential.
