All English students want to improve their speaking. And if you come to NYEA, your speaking will definitely improve. But our student-centered, immersive English program is also perfect for students who want focused, high-quality English Language instruction in all four major skill areas: speaking, listening, reading and writing.
Our courses incorporate top notch teaching methodology to improve pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar and conversational skills.
But your new English skills are not meant to stay in the classroom! You have to use your language in real-life, native speaking environments. That's why NYEA also offers a variety of optional field trips and extra-curricular academic activities that go beyond the basic tourist attractions to give students a look at the real New York. We plan trips to less well-known museum exhibits, uncover places of historical interest, visit local favorites, and give students a deeper look at New York City life!
Other Programs Services
We have unique programs and services not seen in any other English Language school. For example, the Goodwill Point System allows students to earn credits (by having good attendance, excellent grades, and extending the length of program, among other things) and then exchange them for rewards like merchandise, free classes, free textbooks, and gift cards.
And the Student Database System utilizes NYEA’s electronic student ID’s. Students can check their attendance, grades, visa status, and other important information by using a QR code on their phone! And there is more to come.

TOEFL iBT Program
TOEFL iBT Preparation Course is a 4-week or 8-week course that will prepare you to take the internet based test (iBT). Classes will focus directly on the four skills tested on the TOEFL: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Students will develop specific strategies for approaching each one. Students will practice academic skills, review grammar and boost vocabulary skills.
