Surrounded by mountain ranges, Tucson, Arizona is located in the Arizona Sonora desert in the southwestern part of the United States, 60 miles from Mexico, and within hours driving of San Diego, the Grand Canyon and Las Vegas. Tucson's mild climate offers year-round outdoor recreational activities. Tucson offers the conveniences of a modern metropolitan area (750,000 residents), yet retains the tradition of Old West hospitality with its warm, friendly people.

With over 36 years experience the University of Arizona Center for English as a Second Language (CESL) provides English language training, American cultural studies, ESL classroom research, and English for Special Purposes (ESP) training programs.

CESL offers multiskilled academic preparation to enter a U.S. college or university with up to 7 levels of instruction. Special interest courses include TOEFL Preparation, Advanced Grammar, American Idioms, English through Music, and others. CESL also offers CAI, including keyboard skills, a multimedia lab, e-mail, and internet access.
