W&J is nestled amongst the rolling hills of western Pennsylvania in the city of Washington, a community of more than 15,000 people. Our campus is situated just 50 km/30 miles southwest of Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh is the home of the Pittsburgh Pirates. Few cities of any size match Pittsburgh's offerings in the performing and visual arts, world-class museums, and variety of restaurants.

The ELI is specifically designed as a bridge program for students who are preparing to study at the undergraduate or graduate level in the United States. Students of the ELI are engaged in a rigorous English for academic purposes curriculum. Beyond the four skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking students also develop a corpus of advanced vocabulary and academic technical and cultural skills. Our program is tailored to the individual student with class sizes that average 8 students. Our courses are taught in classrooms with first class technology and supported by a growing tutoring program. Our supportive faculty and staff mentor students as they grow into independent learners, community members, and successful undergraduates. Additionally, we strive to uphold W&J’s commitment to academic and community excellence.
