Ashland University is located in a residential area of Ashland, Ohio, a quiet and safe city of 20,000 that is known for its parks and its friendly people. Ashland is about one hour (100 km) by car from Ohios two largest cities, Cleveland to the northeast and Columbus to the southwest.
Sessions are year-round, 7.5 weeks long and include 20 hours of classroom instruction per week. In addition, students are expected to use the language laboratory for homework assignments and personal study for up to 10 hours per week. ACCESS has four levels of instruction: 1 (Beginning), 2 (Low Intermediate), 3 (High Intermediate), and 4 (Advanced).
All single students will live in one of the seven University residence halls. Except in the summer terms, students can live with American roommates. Married students and other students with special needs will find moderately priced off-campus housing is available.
