The American Language and Culture Institute is located on the campus of California State University San Marcos. It is located on the hills of San Marcos, a friendly, safe, suburban community in the rapidly growing region of North San Diego County. With a superb climate and located conveniently between the cities of San Diego to the south and Los Angeles to the North, ALCI is close to the famous and beautiful beaches, spectacular mountains and scenic deserts of southern California.
The University English Pathway program prepares students for study at a university or college in the United States and offers qualified students a pathway option to take English language courses along with university courses. This program is also useful for professionals or travelers who need to improve their English language skills for communication purposes.
This program grants Undergraduate Conditional Admission for students wanting to study for a bachelor's degree and Graduate Conditional Admission for students wanting to study for a master's degree. Students have the opportunity to be recommended for university admission without a TOEFL or IELTS score if they successfully complete this program.
The University English Pathway program is designed for students planning to enter U.S. universities and colleges as graduates or undergraduates. This program provides strong writing, reading, speaking, and research skills, plus the American cultural experience necessary to succeed in U.S. universities and colleges. TOEFL (CBT) preparation is included.
Homestay placement, immigration counseling, academic advising, conversation partners, access to computer and language labs, library media resource center, e-mail accounts, and sports facilities.
University courses can be taken in the advanced levels. Academic advising is available. Students have full access to all campus facilities. Qualified students may be eligible for undergraduate admission to CSU San Marcos without TOEFL upon successful completion of the highest level in the University English Pathway Program.
