The American Language and Culture Institute (ALCI) is the intensive English as a second language program at Long Beach City College. Whether you are preparing for college admission, advancing in your career, or just want to improve your English language skills, the ALCI is the right place for you. The ALCI is highly regarded as one of the best intensive English language programs in the Los Angeles area.
In addition to studying English as a second language, the program will orient you to American culture and college culture. Come join students from all over the world as you learn English and make friends for life! Incoming international students may apply for an I-20 to study in the ALCI. No TOEFL score or other English language test is necessary for admission to our program. Upon successful completion of the ALCI program, we will assist you in transitioning to the LBCC credit program, if you so desire
