The mission of the Jefferson County Literacy Council (JCLC) is to create better communities that are strong in literacy, language and cultural understandings through information and resource sharing, referral, assessment, and instructional services. Our vision is to help learners defeat literacy challenges.
JCLC provides literacy education to individuals residing in Jefferson County, WI. Instruction is designed to improve skills in reading, writing, mathematics, computer and health literacy. Participants also receive help obtaining U.S. citizenship and/or a high school diploma.
JCLC provides adult education to nearly 200 individuals annually in the community and County jail. Programs include skill development in reading, writing, math, ESL, civics, U.S. citizenship and GED testing.
